When the subject of high-profile businesswomen in Hong Kong comes up, the names Maya Lin and Yen Kuok are always on the list. Maya is the head of high jewellery for Cartier Far East; Yen is the founder and CEO of Asia’s premier luxury consignment site, Guiltless.

Maya and Yen embody passion and enthusiasm in all that they do, and are proof that the modern woman can have it all. “I juggle between volunteering and charity work, my job at Cartier and motherhood,” says Maya. “Though it seems impossible at times, in fact all these different roles have actually helped enrich my life.”

Yen took her passion for fashion and turned it into a successful business: “I stay up late scouring the internet for the latest trends in fashion retail; I subscribe to all sorts of e-commerce news alerts and newsletters; whenever I chance upon new online stores, I analyse their homepage design and how their products are sorted,” she enthuses. “Some may say that’s like having to work overtime perpetually, but since it’s something I’d do out of my own interest anyway, I really wouldn’t call it work.”

For Maya, motherhood has been life changing in many ways. “Raising children is a lifetime project that requires your care and attention 24/7. But what surprised me is this experience is extremely rewarding and enjoyable.”

Maya is a fan of Clé de Peau Beauté’s la crème and compares it to high jewellery. “For me, radiance is a quality that comes from within. This extraordinary quality is a result of the experiences one encounters—just like a diamond in the rough: different experiences help to polish it and create the beauty and radiance that we can see,” she says. “La crème helps to enhance the

polish from motherhood, career, charity work, to form the me I am today. This high-performance cream helps me maximize radiance and aids in optimising that glow from within.”

Yen confesses that she’s “a huge skincare addict,” so it’s not surprising that she’s also a devotee of la crème. “If there’s ever a new ingredient or breakthrough technology in the field, you can be sure I’ve heard of it and likely already tried it—this includes all sorts of at-home lasers and even chemical peels that can irritate my skin, and la crème always comes to the rescue,” she says.

She loves la crème because “it’s creamy and moisturising but is absorbed very quickly and doesn’t contain any pore-clogging or irritating ingredients. Instead, it has brightening liquorice extract and the Illuminating Complex Ex. I just wish it were available in one of those airtight pump jars.”

Yen, who has created the world’s first truly luxurious second-hand online store, explains what the business means to her: “From our upscale branding to exquisite product selection, Guiltless caters to a global clientele and delivers a luxury online shopping experience at secondhand prices.” And she’s excited about the coming few months. “We’re always up to new things here at Guiltless and will be launching a pop-up shopping event very soon.”

Like Yen, Maya strives for success in all that she does. While her job and charity work are important, there’s no denying that, for her, motherhood is the most rewarding and precious job of all. “I love everything about motherhood,” she says. “I want to do everything in my power to enrich my daughter’s life and set her on the right path to a bright future.”

Beauty secret True to its slogan “radiance becomes you,” la crème is a high-performance cream that provides brightening and moisturising properties in one easy step, with the formula that includes Clé de Peau Beauté’s own Illuminating Complex Ex and rosemary extract
