David Har­ilela hosted the sixth edition of The One gala din­ner at the Hol­i­day Inn Golden Mile, and this year the re­cip­i­ent of The One In­ter­na­tional Hu­man­i­tar­ian Award was Shobha Rani, for her ex­ten­sive work in ed­u­cat­ing and car­ing for chil­dren in Hy­der­abad, In­dia. The One In­ter­na­tional recog­nises the work of peo­ple who are mak­ing proac­tive ef­forts to com­bat war, famine, poverty and dis­ease abroad. The One Hong Kong sup­ports the game-chang­ers in Hong Kong whose work is ben­e­fit­ting the com­mu­nity at large. Jessie Yu re­ceived The One Hong Kong Hu­man­i­tar­ian Award for her work as co-founder of the Hong Kong Sin­gle Par­ents Association. Aside from the awards cer­e­mony, a high point of the evening was Danny Diaz’s mu­si­cal per­for­mance, which had the crowd in fits of laugh­ter.
