A lux­ury de­sign and fur­ni­ture show­case gets a boost from a team-up with an in­ter­na­tional master of the arts

Whether you’re a de­sign buff spruc­ing up a new home, a sea­soned ar­chi­tect scout­ing for business, or some­where in between, you’ll find in­spi­ra­tion ga­lore at the In­ter­na­tional De­sign Fur­ni­ture Fair Hong Kong (IDFFHK), which runs from Au­gust 25 to 27 at the Con­ven­tion and Ex­hi­bi­tion Cen­tre. Af­ter a stel­lar in­au­gu­ra­tion in 2015, the sec­ond edi­tion, themed Redefin­ing Lux­ury, has grown sub­stan­tially, thanks to a part­ner­ship with top in­ter­na­tional de­sign fair IMM Cologne. More than 10,000 visi­tors are ex­pected to at­tend the event, which boasts an ex­panded “di­a­logue speak­ers se­ries” in­volv­ing 20 ac­claimed ar­chi­tects and de­sign­ers, 11 gallery show­cases from such iconic houses as Bac­carat and Swarovski, and five de­sign ex­hi­bi­tions, in­clud­ing a Zaha Ha­did trib­ute and a show of 10 de­sign­ers cu­rated by Pa­trick Le­ung en­cap­su­lat­ing the “Lion Rock spirit of Hongkongers.” Says direc­tor Win­nie Yue, “IDFF2017 of­fers a plat­form for cul­tural and cre­ative ex­changes, and it’s ex­cit­ing to join forces with our lo­cal and over­seas tal­ents.” idffhk.com
