The Changing Young Lives Foundation bestowed its inaugural Civic Leadership Award during its annual Festival of Trees luncheon at The Conrad. Eleanor Wong and Ronnie Cheng were the recipients, honoured for their efforts in aiding the city’s underprivileged children. The foundation introduced the award as a way of encouraging more people to become engaged in children’s causes, especially at a time when the youth suicide rate in the city is at an all-time high. All proceeds from the lunch, which was co-chaired by Jane Chao-lee, Yvette Ho and Angie Ting, will benefit the foundation’s Art to Heart Expressive Arts Therapy Programme. The popular programme was introduced in 2015 and has since helped more than 250 at-risk students in 30 schools.
