NEW YEAR, NEW CHALLENGE
The year 2016 marks the 10th anniversary since the year I started flying. Whether in a Cessna Skyhawk, Piper Cub, or a Super Decathlon, flying is still to this day perhaps the most challenging and rewarding passion I’ve pursued. I encourage everyone here to start this new year with taking up a new challenge – be it a new rating or endorsement if you’re already an existing pilot, to simply starting your flight training today if you’ve always aimed for the clouds. Why wait when you can enjoy it sooner?
Still need a little convincing? Not to worry, we’ve got you covered. Check out this issue’s feature on the “Top 10 Ways To Enjoy Your Pilot’s Licence” and learn about some of the top perks of being a licensed private pilot. For those who’re more into the business aviation industry as a whole, you might like to explore our second feature story on how the Asian Business Aviation Association (ASBAA) is making a difference on behalf of all of us, as well as excerpts from an exclusive interview we had with Mike Walsh, CEO of Asia Jet. For the jetsetters, be sure not to miss our third feature on in-flight, Michelin-starred, gastronomical delights onboard business jets. There’s something for everyone in this issue, so take your time to indulge in whatever you may fancy.
For desserts, we have selected for you what we think are the best from SIHH 2016 (Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie Genève), one of the biggest annual watch fairs that took place this January, and our featuring some of the finest watches from the Richemont group and others. We welcome you to discover Hoi An’s rich flavours and fresh seafood, as well as some of the unforgettable wine-tasting journeys at some of the most selective destinations. Remember, when treating yourself to the best, don’t forget about putting in a new challenge in every new year. You can start this year by spreading your wings and going above the horizon.
As always, thanks for your loyal readership. Here’s to a healthy, prosperous, and airworthy year of 2016! 2016年是我开始飞行的第十个年头。
