The Honda HA-420 Hondajet was the first aircraft developed by the Honda Aircraft Company. A light business jet, it was first designed in Japan, starting in the 1980s, then developed and manufactured in Greensboro, North Carolina, USA. Designer Michimasa Fujino sketched the Hondajet in 1997, and by 1999, the design was locked in. The Hondajet made its first flight in December 2003, and it has been produced since 2012. In April this year, the Hondajet made its first China appearance as part of the static display at ABACE 2017 in Shanghai.

The Hondajet is a low-wing monoplane with a conventional structure that includes a mainly composite fuselage and an aluminum wing. It is powered by a pair of GE Honda HF120 turbofans, mounted on pylons above the wings. It carries 4-6 passengers and 1-2 crew. It is 13 meters long and 4.5 meters high, with a wingspan of 12.1 meters. Its maximum speed is 782 km/h, with a long range cruise speed of 682 km/h. Its service ceiling is 13,000 meters, and its rate of a climb 20 m/s.

The Hondajet’s overwing engine mount design was employed to maximize cabin space and to achieve lower wave drag at a high Mach number. The nose and wing are designed for laminar flow. The aircraft’s placement of engines and its wing and fuselage design were determined through computer simulations and wind tunnel tests. Honda believes the combination of lightweight materials, aerodynamics, and efficient engines gives the Hondajet up to 20% better fuel efficiency than other aircraft in its class, with a fuel consumption of 0.41 kg/km.

The cabin is configured with executive seating for four in a classic club configuration, with an option for a side-facing fifth seat. The Hondajet has more cabin space than any other aircraft in its class.

The Hondajet’s cockpit is built for optimum safety based on thoughtful ergonomic design and state-of-the-art situational awareness. Equipped with the Garmin G3000 nextgeneration all-glass avionics system, the cockpit puts the pilot in closer contact with the aircraft through touchscreen technology, which includes dual touchscreen controllers and the 14-inch high-resolution displays that offer advanced navigation, flight planning, and control. The cockpit is designed to enable singlepilot or dual-pilot operation of the aircraft.

Honda delivered the first customer aircraft in December 2005, and made its first European delivery in April 2016. Sixteen aircraft were delivered in the fist quarter of 2016. The company plans to ramp up production of the Hondajet to 80 units per year after March 2019.

在经典布局下,座舱可配置为四座行政座椅,此外还可选装侧面第五座椅。本田喷气机比同级飞机拥有更宽敞的座舱空间。

本田喷气机驾驶舱的安全设计已最优化,采用了贴心的人体工学设计和高级情景感知系统。驾驶舱配备了佳明G3000新一代全屏显航电系统,飞行员可通过触屏技术与飞机直观接触,该系统包含两个触屏控制器和14寸高清晰度显示器,可提供高级导航、飞行计划和控制功能。驾驶舱设计可单飞行员或双飞行员操作。

本田于2005年交付了首架客户产品机,并于2016年4月在欧洲交付首架飞机。2016年第一季度交付了16架飞机。公司计划2019年3月后将产能提升至每年交付80架。
