This hub of galleries is just five mins away from Dashanzi, and is the place for serious collectors. This itin is a bit of a hike so wear flat shoes and ideally keep your car or taxi waiting if you can, at least until you get to Galerie Urs Meile. Coming from Dashanzi on Airport Side Rd / 機場高速輔路/ go towards Changjian Driving School /長建駕校, turn right at the blue and white sign for Three Shadows Photography Art Centre complete with handy cafe (see Art). Opp. is a compound with Platform China at #319 / 6432 0091. Retrace to Airport Side Rd and turn left, then make a left at the traffic lights onto Nangao Lu /南皋路. After the crossing, take the right fork, then go first right and then first left to find Galerie Urs Meile (see Art). Exit left to the end of the narrow road, then swing left at the T-junction. Follow the road to the right around a high wooden fence, stopping at #241 to head into a compound of grey-brick modular blocks. On your left is Pekin Fine Arts (see Art). Head back out of the complex, carry on down the road and take the next right for fantastic trio White Space (see Art), Shanghart / 6432 3202, and the Artmia Foundation / 8457 4550. Exit Artmia back onto the street and turn right to hit a T-junction. Now, spin right to the red brick buildings for Chambers Fine Art / 5127 3298. Behind Chambers, you’ll find C Space / 5127 3248; Taikang Space / 5127 3173; and Beijing Art Now / 5127 3292. Knackered? Food and wine options are rather limited here, but pop back for a fiery supper at No.6 Sichuan Food Studio (see above). Fine work, comrade!
