How to get there:
Fly direct from Beijing, Shanghai and most major Chinese cities, or take the high-speed train. It’s only a short hop from Hong Kong, and the cities will soon be connected by a new highspeed line.
Located in the southeast, Guangzhou is best visited in autumn (OCTOBERNOVEMBER) when it is at its coolest. It gets hot in the summer while heavy rain usually falls in May and June.
China’s largest trade fair, the China Import and Export Fair, also know as the Canton Fair, is held every year in Guangzhou in the spring and autumn for several days. As there are always a lot of business travelers attending the fair, check ahead of time to make sure your visit doesn’t clash with the fair.
