NewsChina - - NETIZEN W@TCH -

Chinese netizens have been in heated debate over whether ambulances should be charged highway toll fees after an ambulance in Xingtai, Hebei Province, was reportedly stopped by highway toll station staff on the way to hospital. Some believed that charging is reasonable, as the ambulance service is also not free of charge, but others worried that paying toll fees would delay patients getting to hospital. Ambulances should be listed as public service vehicles, they said.
