BLANCPAIN VILLERET TRADITIONAL CHINESE CALENDAR – YEAR OF THE ROOSTER

Revolution (Hong Kong) - - WATCH CULTURE -

Blancpain is one of the very, very few brands that has ever tackled the complexity of the Chinese calendar in a mechanical timepiece. The Gregorian calendar and its little quirks pale in comparison with the exceptions that the Chinese lunisolar based calendar engenders. Even locals would be hard pressed to tell you the specifics of the lunar calendar without consulting a chart. Thankfully, the Le Brassus manufacture’s hidden correctors under the lugs make any adjustment very straightforward. For the new year, Blancpain has introduced a limited edition version of 36 pieces only, where the white gold winding rotor is engraved with, as you might imagine, a rooster.
