PANERAI THE NORTH AND SOUTH OF IT
PANERAI AND Mike Horn have come together for another globe-crossing expedition and a hardy new instrument to see him through it. The Luminor Submersible 1950 3 Days GMT Automatic Titanio will accompany the Swiss-South African adventurer on his latest expedition entitled Pole2Pole – a journey circumnavigating the earth through the North and South poles. Anticipating Horn’s needs, the watchmaker created a piece with a 47mm titanium solid case, water resistance of up to 300m, a rotating bezel for measuring the time of immersion, a power reserve of 72 hours and the GMT function with a central hand specifying the time at home. On the caseback is Horn’s signature and an engraving of the two animals iconic of the poles – a polar bear and a penguin. The name of the expedition is also imprinted on the face in sporty yellow. Horn recently completed the solo crossing of the Antarctic continent, the first leg of this expedition.
