Spot­light on tech­nol­ogy that aids el­derly

TECH­NOLO­GIES that ben­e­fit the aged are tak­ing cen­ter stage at a se­nior care, re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion and health ex­hi­bi­tion which opened yes­ter­day in Shang­hai, lo­cal civil af­fairs author­i­ties say.

Ro­bots that help re­store up­per body func­tion, AI de­vices of­fer­ing mental sup­port and daily care ad­vice, and vir­tual re­al­ity sim­u­la­tions of de­men­tia symp­toms are some of the in­no­va­tions fea­tured at the three-day China In­ter­na­tional Ex­hi­bi­tion of Se­nior Care, Re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion Medicine and Health­care, also known as China Aid, one of the largest and old­est events of its kind in China.

The ex­hi­bi­tion, hosted by the Shang­hai Civil Af­fairs Bureau, will also dis­play the lat­est se­nior-care prod­ucts and ser­vices, as well as ad­vances in re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion and med­i­cal treat­ment, re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion de­vices, se­nior nurs­ing, liv­able ar­chi­tec­ture and health man­age­ment.

Ex­hibitors from home and abroad will at­tend the event, which is be­ing held at the Shang­hai New In­ter­na­tional Expo Cen­ter in the Pudong New Area.
