It’s a word we’re hearing more and more these days. And why not? Mixing business and leisure travel is an obvious choice for many, and the Andaz Singapore, which was designed by Andre Fu and opened late last year, very much embodies this spirit. It’s a hotel for guests who want to get their work and meetings done in informal, contemporary, vibrant spaces – and perhaps enjoy a drink after.
The hotel is in Bugis, which offers the best of both worlds: it’s outside the CBD while still only a few minutes from Marina Bay Sands, Suntec City and Raffles City. Located in the spectacular new Duo complex designed by Ole Scheeren, the Andaz is also close to numerous post-work dinner and drink spots, such as those in Haji Lane.
THE ROOMS 房間
There’s a homey informality to Andaz’s rooms. The spaces are simple yet elegant, with their expansive windows, white walls and light woods. Desks and sofas are also casual, inspired by Fu’s own working style. All the tech frills are there: ports galore, easy connection to the TV for presentations and services that can be ordered via Facebook, from a late in-room dinner to laundry.
