Three Venues, One Big Whisky Celebration

The Macallan’s portfolio of premium whiskies grows with the recent release of the 12 Years Old Double Cask. This single malt boasts two distinct styles, reflecting its maturation in both American oak sherry casks and European oak sherry casks. The result of dual cask maturation is an exceptional flavour that’s aimed squarely at the whisky connoisseur. Upon first glance, the Double Cask has a light gold colour. On the nose, the whisky brings aromas of dried fruits, sherry and wood spice. On the palate, the whisky provides vanilla and citrusy notes, slightly sweeter than its Sherry Oak sibling.

Whisky lovers enjoyed the 12 Years Old Double Cask at its launch event at Lily & Bloom, Levels and Bungalow on August 24. Each venue welcomed guests for an entertaining evening of live jazz and cocktails. ABA and The Company strutted their stuff at Levels, the Bigsmall Quartet featuring Blaine Whittaker played to an enthusiastic reception at Bungalow, and Ted Lo and his band performed at Lily & Bloom. The unveiling of The Macallan 12 Years Old Double Cask, which was served neat to guests in order to showcase its flavour profile and unique characteristics, followed the music. The celebration carried on with plenty more whisky and several dance performances through the night.
