The Macallan is set to unveil its sixth Masters of Photography collaboration in Hong Kong on June 9. An exhibition on the theme of “Time Captured” is showcasing the eerie, enticing works of American photographer Steven Klein.
Ten photographs and a video shot by the famed photographer are going on display at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. This series explores the intertwining worlds of whisky-making and gastronomy, as shaped by the eyes of the Roca brothers, the trio of chefs behind the El Celler de Can Roca restaurant in Spain.
The Macallan Masters of Photography: Steven Klein Edition also features a limited edition Macallan whisky of the same name, of which only 1,000 bottles have been produced. Housed inside the black box is a signed Klein print and a horse’s head bottle stopper, along with a series of serving accessories inspired by the Roca brothers.
Since 2008, The Macallan has partnered with photographers such as Annie Lebowitz and Mario Testino for its Masters of Photography series, in an aim to showcase the ‘art of whiskymaking’ through photography.
