The Importance of Being Ernest

The Peak (Hong Kong) - - Food & Drink • News -

“I drink to make other people more interesting,” the endlessly quotable Ernest Hemingway once said. The Old Man, a new speakeasy hidden in an alleyway off Aberdeen Street, pays tribute to the American writer’s legacy. As the brainchild of three local bar industry veterans, Agung Prabowo, James Tamang, and Roman Ghale, the space boasts nature-inspired touches along with stylish round tables and apple-green stools. The bar menu is inspired by Hemingway, of course, with imaginative cocktails named after the author’s works. The Snows of Kilimanjaro for example, features marshmallow gin, lacto-fermented raspberry and gruyère.
