The new collection brought by Miuccia Prada is inspired by cartoon artistry. And as of Via Fogazzaro from Milan, both men and women show stages are designed in the same style. Last year in June, Prada’s 2018 SS Men hired the AMO, a creative team from OMA, and the design firm 2x4, to present a shockingly spatial design with large area of pattern boards. Last year’s 2018 SS also chose the same site, the setting of which immersed the audience in the symbols of female figures.

Prada worked with eight visionary artists, spanning the generational spectrum, each of whom has illustrated women in a uniquely empowering way — Brigid Elva, Joëlle Jones, Giuliana Maldini, Natsume Ono, Emma Ríos, Trina Robbins and Fiona Staples — and with the archive of Tarpé Mills, creator of the first female action hero. In the multi-dimensional space, lines of painting extend infinitively and integrate the classic cartoon figures with modern styles, with the aim of eventually shattering all stereotypes through the collage of radicalism and rebellion.

As this series of collection fundamentally tries to redefine and describe feminism, the brand-new storyline endeavors to seek the clashing point between existing realities and aims to provide new possibilities and aspirations. Just like the show space, the segregation of arches visually imitates story chapters —luring you to read the next one until the end.
