New Era of Slashers

Women of China (English) - - THIS AND THAT |悦读 -

People who work extra jobs refer to themselves as "slashers." Slashers are not content to have just one career, so they juggle multiple careers. For example, a professional manager can be a tailor, who makes tailor-made shirts, a chef can be a dresser, and an illustrator can own a bakery.

Successful slashers have one thing in common: They work hard to make achievements in their main field, and then they begin working extra jobs in other fields. They take on the extra jobs out of their interests, or because they want to make use of their full potential. According to a survey, conducted by professional networking website Linkedin in 2016, about 4 percent of Chinese freelancers have more than 10 years of work experience, and about 14 percent of freelancers have less than two years of work experience.
