Federations Organize Parent-child, Book-reading Activities
Women's federations, at all levels, have been organizing various parent-child, book-reading activities in recent years, including parent-child, book-reading summer camps and the collection of parent-child, book-reading microvideos. The activities have achieved good results.
Chinese President Xi Jinping in recent years has spoken many times about the importance of both family education and family traditions. In keeping with Xi's guidance, women's federations, at all levels, have organized several parent-child, book-reading activities in 2017. Tens of thousands of families and children have benefited from the activities. Song Xiuyan, Vice-president and First Member of the Secretariat of ACWF, pays a lot of attention to parent-child, book-reading activities. Song says she hopes the activities will be organized regularly, to help families cultivate socialist core values and to promote scientific family education methods. She says she also hopes more families will benefit from the activities.
A notice on the continued implementation of national parent-child, book-reading activities was issued on April 7, 2017, by the ACWF and the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television (SAPPRFT). The ACWF and SAPPRFT also announced the key parentchild, book-reading activities on the same day. Women's federations, at all levels, have organized various colorful, innovative parent-child, book-reading activities since the notice was issued.
The Women's Federation of Zhejiang Province initiated the parent-child, book-reading activity on Children's Day (June 1). The federation recommended 100 good books to parents, and encouraged the parents to read books with their children. The federation also donated children's books to many families.
The Women's Federation of Shandong Province has organized various parent-child, book-reading activities, including lectures on parent-child book reading, the teenagers' text-reciting contest, and the open class about parent-child book reading. The Women's Federation of Hainan Province has organized more than 3,000 lectures on family education and family traditions. The federation has donated more than 20,000 children's books to families. Nearly 500,000 parents and children have participated in the lectures.
