Shen Meets HKSAR'S Chief Executive

Shen Yueyue, Vice-chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and President of the All-china Women's Federation (ACWF), met Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), in Beijing on August 7, 2017.

Shen welcomed the delegation of HKSAR officials headed by Lam. She congratulated Lam on winning the region's fifth election for chief executive.

Shen said, since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the CPC Central Committee, with President Xi Jinping as its core, has implemented the principle of "One Country, Two Systems," and has comprehensively and accurately carried out the Basic Law of the HKSAR. Shen said she believed, with the support of the Central Government, Lam will follow President Xi's remarks and lead the region's new government and people in HKSAR in the advancement of the region's development in all sectors. Lam spoke highly of ACWF'S solid and effective work, and she said she hoped to learn the good practices in China's mainland to advance women and children's undertakings in Hong Kong Song Xiuyan, Vice-president and First Member of the Secretariat of the ACWF, and Xia Jie, Vice-president and Member of the Secretariat of the ACWF, also attended the meeting.
