“When you work at Wynn, of course you want to try all the restau­rants so you can speak to guests and clients about them from an ed­u­cated point of view, and early on, Wazuzu emerged as a fa­vorite. It’s a great meet­ing spot for so many rea­sons: You’ve got the wow fac­tor of that gor­geous 27-foot crys­tal dragon, plus the res­tau­rant is po­si­tioned so well, with ev­ery ta­ble af­ford­ing great views both within the res­tau­rant and out into the Encore casino. The menu is also great if you’re en­ter­tain­ing clients be­cause it of­fers a some­thing-for-ev­ery­one ap­proach; it has a great Chi­nese chicken salad as well as a Thai beef salad I love, and a lob­ster miso soup that’s won­der­ful, plus if you’re in the mood for sushi, this is the spot for that at lunch. The dish I al­ways go back for, though, is the Ice Kachang, which is so sim­ple and yet so yummy: It’s shaved ice topped with fresh fruits—ly­chees, man­gos, and pineap­ples, plus red beans and a bit of con­densed milk, so it’s re­ally light and re­fresh­ing, great for shar­ing or just for lunch on your own. Peo­ple think of it as a sum­mer dish, but I love it year-round; in the win­ter I pair it with hot tea, and it’s just de­li­cious.”
