THE FOURTH EDITION OF THE CUBAN CYCLING CLAS­SIC HAS CO­ME TO AN END. LI­KE LAST YEAR, TWELVE STAGES WE­RE RA­CED BY 91 CY­CLISTS, WHO WE­RE DIVIDED IN­TO FIF­TEEN TEAMS PLUS A GUEST FROM TRI­NI­DAD & TOBAGO. THE EF­FORT MA­DE BY THE CY­CLISTS WAS HU­GE, BUT IT WAS SURPASSED BY THE ONE CARRIED OUT BY ORGANIZERS AND CO­LLA­BO­RA­TORS, WHO RESCUED AN EVENT THAT SEEM TO BE LOST.

Pe­dro Portuondo “Ta­to” pro­ved his worth and de­vo­tion be­yond any doubt whi­le wea­ring the oran­ge shirt up La Gran Pie­dra. Portuondo sho­wed his skills as a moun­tai­neer, road cy­clist and ra­cer against the clock. He won that sta­ge and big­ge­red his ad­van­ta­ge. Con­gra­tu­la­tions to the cy­clists that ma­de it to the fi­nish li­ne and the aut­ho­ri­ties and co­lla­bo­ra­tors that ma­de anot­her Cuban Cycling Clas­sic co­me true, against all pre­dic­tions.
