THE SA­TURNO MO­DEL WAS ONE OF THE ITALIAN GILERA BRAND’S GEMS OF THE CROWN. IT WAS PUT OUT IN 1939 AND BECAME SUCCESSFUL BETWEEN 1946 AND 1957. IT WAS USED IN SEVERAL FIELDS: SPORTS, TOU­RISM AND MILITARY. IT MA­DE HIS­TORY DU­RING THE MOTORCYCLING WORLD CHAM­PIONS­HIP WITH

UM­BER­TO MA­SET­TI. Giu­sep­pe Gilera, foun­der of the brand in , had already ma­de  cc mo­torcy­cles in the early days of the Great War. That very year () he crea­ted several mo­dels that we­re na­med after pla­nets and we­re meant to be used by the army. Sa­turno was one of them. After the war (), Gilera was still using the old -cy­lin­der mo­torcy­cle to ra­ce, un­til the com­pres­sor was ban­ned. Whi­le he was ma­king a new bi­ke, he ba­sed his new San Remo ra­cing ver­sion on the Gilera Sa­turno.
