After years of work with classic cars in Cuba, I’m still amazed by the stories related to these gems. Sometimes friendship, caprice and especially love work wonders. A relationship between two teenagers, with that beautiful love we always remember, saved this incredible

Buick Wildcat 1966. Some years ago, Jose Luis Garrandes’ son went into one of those teenage relationships that startle parents, but get youngsters excited. That was the beginning of a connection between both families and the way to rediscover the extraordinary car we are describing in our section. It was left in the backyard of the girlfriend’s

parents, in a sort of mechanics workshop they had. That’s where Jose Luis found it, during one of his numerous visits. It had spent many years “stopped”, with many of its parts in the interior, including the rear

windshield, some window and the engine had been taken into pieces.
