MC-21 THE RUSSIAN AERONAUTICS’ WINNING CARD
MC-21, THE NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPED BY THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION’S UNITED AIRCRAFT CORPORATION UAC, FINALLY HAD
ITS ROLLOUT MONTHS AFTER ITS FIRST FLIGHT. DIFFERENT VERSIONS WILL REPLACE THE TU-154 AND TU-204/214, WITH A 5,000-5,500 KM RANGE. THERE ARE 74 PURCHASE OPTIONS WITH AN INITIAL PRICE OF 35 MILLION USD PER UNITY AND IT HAS 206 ORDERS, MAINLY RELATED TO THE MS21-300 MODEL. The Russian United Aviation Corporation UAC business group, made up of Irkut and Yakovlev Design Bureau, develops the “Магистральный самолет 21 века” (Magistralnyi Samaliot 21) program, with the aim set on making an aircraft in three versions: MC-21-200, with capacity for 162 passengers; MC-21-300 for 198 passengers and MC-21-400 for 230, all of them in the “short and medium range”. The project includes ER and LR variants for versions 200, 300 and 400.
