THE SUGAR MILLS VALLEY, DECLARED WORLD HERITAGE BY UNESCO ON DECEMBER 8, 1988, INVITES YOU TO

GO THROUGH OUR HISTORY IN A SPECIAL WAY. A STEAM LOCOMOTIVE WAITS FOR YOU AT TRINIDAD’S TRAIN STATION, WITH TWO CARS READY TO WELCOME

PASSENGERS, SO THERE IS NO TIME TO LOSE.

That Cuban natural environment, which has become an outdoor museum, was one of the most important regions of the country when sugar was skyrocketed, with nearly 70 sugar mills, and families living in the area –centuries 17th to 19th– amassed substantial wealth. The route is made up of several interesting sites: visits to Manaca-Iznaga’s house, bunkhouses and bell tower, as well as the house at Guachinango site. A train ride through the Sugar Mills Valley: an eco-cultural system that offers green landscapes, clean air… and authentic history, with the sweet taste of

Cuban land.
