Özersay dines with Disy leader, holds informal talks
DEPUTY Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Kudret Özersay has held informal talks over dinner with the Greek Cypriot Democratic Rally (Disy) head Averof Neophytou.
The pair got together in Koruçam on Sunday, where People’s Party (HP) leader Dr Özersay announced on social media they had been hosted at the house of a “mutual friend”.
“We continued here in Koruçam the informal dialogue process we initiated in New York,” said Dr Özersay, adding: “Whatever will happen in Cyprus, I prefer it to happen by way of dialogue and cooperation.”
In a joint message on social media, the two politicians, who met on September 28 in New York when both were there for the UN General Assembly, said: “Whether we are of a consensus or not, dialogue is the most civilised way for the steps that we will take forward . . . We will continue this as two party leaders.”
