Pres­i­dent Ni­cos Anas­tasi­ades in­au­gu­rated the Minthis Hills Golf Re­sort last week, say­ing the EUR 600 mln project in Tsada is the cor­ner­stone of de­vel­op­ment.

The Pres­i­dent praised Elias Eli­ades, CEO of the Pafilia Group that owns the project, say­ing that “this im­por­tant project for Paphos proves the dy­namism of Cypriot en­trepreneurs.”

“Projects of this mag­ni­tude and im­por­tance re­mind us all that we Cypri­ots are de­ter­mined not only to stand on our feet, but to move ahead” and exit the cur­rent eco­nomic cri­sis, by achiev­ing more in a shorter time.

Anas­tasi­ades added that he lis­tened to Eli­ades’ com­plaints that it took seven years fro the projects per­mits to be ap­proved.

“Imag­ine which for­eign in­vestor would be in­ter­ested in Cyprus if we had such time­frames, which I hope will be some­thing of the past,” he said, ex­plain­ing that his ad­min­is­tra­tion wants to speed up and sim­plify pro­ce­dures in or­der to at­tract more for­eign in­vestors.
