Turkey and Greece will hold a joint business fo­rum on Wed­nes­day bring­ing to­gether hun­dreds of par­tic­i­pants in Izmir, with Turk­ish Econ­omy Min­is­ter Ni­hat Zey­bekci and Greek De­vel­op­ment Min­is­ter Nikos Den­dias mak­ing speeches.

Turkey’s For­eign Eco­nomic Re­la­tions Coun­cil (DEIK), the Greek Em­bassy in Ankara and the Union of Hel­lenic Cham­bers of Com­merce and In­dus­try are or­gan­is­ing the event.

A to­tal of 243 par­tic­i­pants from Turkey and Greece have bi­lat­eral meet­ings at the event, but with the busi­nessto-business meet­ings a to­tal of 538 gath­er­ings will be held over­all, ac­cord­ing to the daily Hur­riyet. The event aims to pro­mote bi­lat­eral trade and en­hance in­vest­ment flows be­tween the two coun­tries. It will also ex­plore op­por­tu­ni­ties for Greek-Turk­ish trade and in­vest­ment co­op­er­a­tion in third coun­tries.

The fo­rum will fo­cus mainly on the ar­eas of food and agri­cul­tural prod­ucts, tourism and real es­tate, con­struc­tion and build­ing ma­te­ri­als, shipping, trans­port and en­ergy.
