Re­tail trade value and vol­ume up in 2014

The value of re­tail trade in­creased 0.3% in 2014, ac­cord­ing to pro­vi­sional es­ti­mates by the sta­tis­ti­cal ser­vice Cy­s­tat, with the monthly Turnover Value In­dex of Re­tail Trade for De­cem­ber 2014 up by 19.6 units or 23.7% to 102.2 units com­pared to the pre­vi­ous month.

For Novem­ber 2014 the In­dex stood at 82.6 units, record­ing a de­crease of 5.4 units or 6.1% com­pared to Oc­to­ber, whereas it de­clined by 0.1 units or 0.1% com­pared to Novem­ber 2013.

For the pe­riod Jan­uary-Novem­ber 2014 the In­dex recorded an in­crease of 0.9% com­pared to the cor­re­spond­ing pe­riod of 2013. The vol­ume of re­tail trade also in­creased last year, ac­cord­ing to Cy­s­tat. The Turnover Vol­ume In­dex of Re­tail Trade is pro­vi­sion­ally es­ti­mated to have risen 2.0% com­pared to the cor­re­spond­ing pe­riod of 2013, while for De­cem­ber alone, the In­dex in­creased by 23.5 units or 29.4% to 103.3 units, com­pared to the pre­vi­ous month.
