Trade deficit nar­rows on rise in ex­ports, fall in im­ports

The trade deficit dropped in Jan­uary to EUR 99.6 mln, com­pared to 285 mln in Jan­uary 2014 as im­ports dropped and ex­ports were up, ac­cord­ing to the sta­tis­ti­cal ser­vice Cy­s­tat.

To­tal im­ports/ar­rivals (im­ports from third coun­tries and ar­rivals from other EU mem­ber states) in Jan­uary amounted to EUR 357.9 mln, com­pared to 396.1 mln in Jan­uary 2014.

To­tal ex­ports/dis­patches (ex­ports to third coun­tries and dis­patches to other EU mem­ber states) in Jan­uary rose to EUR 258.3 mln from 111.1 mln in Jan­uary 2014.

Ex­ports/dis­patches of do­mes­ti­cally pro­duced goods, in­clud­ing stores and pro­vi­sions, were to­talled EUR 63.3 mln, whilst ex­ports/dis­patches of for­eign goods, in­clud­ing stores and pro­vi­sions, were EUR 195 mln in Jan­uary.
