UCy work­shop on pho­to­voltaic sys­tems: good and bad op­tions

The Uni­ver­sity of Cyprus and the Pho­to­voltaic Tech­nol­ogy Lab­o­ra­tory are or­gan­is­ing an ed­u­ca­tional work­shop on “Pho­to­voltaic Sys­tems: good and bad op­tions”. The event will take place on Wed­nes­day, May 6, at 6pm, at am­phithe­ater B108, “Anas­ta­sios G. Leven­tis” build­ing within the uni­ver­sity cam­pus in Aglantzia.

The work­shop will be ad­dressed by the Rec­tor of the Uni­ver­sity of Cyprus, Prof. Con­stanti­nos Christofides, the En­ergy Reg­u­la­tor and mem­ber of the Cyprus En­ergy Reg­u­la­tory Author­ity Kypros Kypri­an­ides and the Head of Sec­tor Pro­grams at Cyprus Re­search Pro­mo­tion Foun­da­tion Leonidas An­to­niou.

Speeches will fol­low on “Def­i­ni­tion of qual­ity in pho­to­voltaics”, by Dr. Ge­orge Makrides, Qual­ity Manager at the Pho­to­voltaic Tech­nol­ogy Lab­o­ra­tory, “Hid­den risks in low-qual­ity Pho­to­voltaic Mod­ules” by Alexander Phinikarides, Tech­ni­cal Manager at the Pho­to­voltaic Tech­nol­ogy Lab­o­ra­tory and a speech on “Con­tem­po­rary meth­ods of de­ter­min­ing the qual­ity of PV” by Dr.-Ing. Markus Schu­bert, Deputy Direc­tor at the In­sti­tute of Pho­to­voltaics (ipv) of the Uni­ver­sity of Stuttgart.

Af­ter the speeches, a dis­cus­sion with the au­di­ence will fol­low, which will be mod­er­ated by Prof. Ge­orge Ge­orghiou, Head of the Pho­to­voltaic Tech­nol­ogy Lab­o­ra­tory and in­terim Direc­tor of the FOSS Re­search Cen­tre for Sus­tain­able En­ergy of the Uni­ver­sity of Cyprus.

This event is co-fi­nanced by the Euro­pean Re­gional Devel­op­ment Fund and by the Repub­lic of Cyprus in the frame­work of the project ‘Re­li­able As­sess­ment of Degra­da­tion in new thin-film pho­to­voltaic tech­nolo­gies’. The event is also sup­ported by Con­er­con En­ergy So­lu­tions.
