Lar­naca ma­rina deal to con­clude by June 15

The Lar­naca ma­rina and port project, stalled due to the lack of fund­ing by the op­er­a­tors Zenon Con­sor­tium, is go­ing ahead as planned “and should have a pos­i­tive out­come by June 15,” said Trans­port Min­is­ter Mar­ios Deme­tri­ades.

Speak­ing at a meet­ing hosted by the mayor and mem­bers of the Lar­naca mu­nic­i­pal coun­cil, Deme­tri­ades said that ev­ery­one “should be pa­tient, be­cause this project of vi­tal i mpor­tance to the town, will soon en­ter its im­ple­men­ta­tion phase.”

The min­is­ter added that road works and other in­fra­struc­ture projects will be part of the Pres­i­dent’s re­cent dec­la­ra­tion of a devel­op­ment plan that will try to re­vive the econmy through fund­ing for public and pri­vate projects.
