Jobless drops 9% yoy in June
The number of registered unemployed persons declined to 40,876 in May, down 9.1% from a year earlier.
According to data released by the statistical service Cystat, June saw the fourteenth consecutive annual reduction of the unemployed persons since May 2014 and the third largest from March this year (-9.36%) and May (9.35%). The number of jobless peaked in February 2014 at 53,204 persons. The reduction is attributed mainly to hirings in construction, financial and insurance, trade, manufacturing, education and to newcomers in the labour market.
