Will Ap­ple launch iPhone 7 too

Ru­mours re­ported in the press claim that Ap­ple Inc. (NAS­DAQ: AAPL) will re­lease the iPhone 7 be­fore the end of 2015. The ru­mours have been spe­cific. Ap­ple al­ready has or­dered 90 mln units. Also, the iPhone 7 may change very lit­tle from the iPhone 6, which raises the is­sue of whether the iPhone 7 will be re­leased too soon, given the on­go­ing de­mand for the cur­rent ver­sion.

The iPhone 6 is ten months old and barely will have passed its first birth­day when the iPhone 7 is re­leased. By al­most any mea­sure, the iPhone 6 has been suc­cess­ful. The first week­end the smart­phone was avail­able, over 10 mln units were sold. Ap­ple sold more than 61 mln iPhones in the most re­cently re­ported quar­ter, up 40% from the same quar­ter last year.

Ac­cord­ing to Barron’s, Ray­mond James an­a­lysts in­creased their fore­casts for iPhone sales in the quar­ter about to be an­nounced, plus Septem­ber, to as many as 50 mln units. In
