Ayia Napa statue re­calls farm­ing her­itage

Agri­cul­ture and Nat­u­ral Re­sources Min­is­ter Ni­cos Kouyialis and Mayor Yian­nis Karousos will in­au­gu­rate a 2.1m tall statue in Ayia Napa on Fri­day, com­mem­o­rat­ing the re­gion’s farm­ing her­itage, dur­ing the EKA farm­ers’ union cul­tural fes­ti­val.

The cop­per statue, “Agro­tissa” (coun­try­woman), was com­mis­sioned by the hol­i­day town’s mu­nic­i­pal­ity and is the cre­ation of An­ge­los Ger­akaris from Kerkyra (Corfu). It has been placed on the small round­about be­tween Kryo Nero Avanue and Makar­ios III.
