This week: French at HHIC train­ing restau­rant

The Higher Ho­tel In­sti­tute, Cyprus has restarted its Stu­dent Train­ing Restau­rant in Ni­cosia as from the end of Oc­to­ber, where this week, the serv­ing will be French cui­sine.

The restau­rant is open to the pub­lic for lunch three days a week, on Tues­days, Wed­nes­days and Thurs­days from 1.30 to 3pm and charges are set at cost price. Po­ten­tial pa­trons are ad­vised to re­serve a ta­ble in ad­vance by call­ing 22404847, 22404800.

The restau­rant is op­er­ated by the stu­dents un­der su­per­vi­sion and their “hands on” ac­tiv­i­ties in­clude the full range from set­ting the ta­ble and re­cep­tion, to serv­ing and clear­ing. The kitchen staff are trained in health and safety, cook­ing, ser­vice and in­no­va­tion.

The first two weeks in­cluded Scan­di­na­vian cui­sine, fol­lowed by Span­ish cui­sine last week.

Next up are Ital­ian cui­sine (Novem­ber 10-12), western and cen­tral Euro­pean (a trib­ute to Ger­man cui­sine) on Novem­ber 17 and 18, North­east Asian (Novem­ber 24-26), In­dian (De­cem­ber 1-3), Tex-Mex (De­cem­ber 8-10) and Christ­mas Gala menu (De­cem­ber 15-17).
