NPLs at 47.79% of all loans in Septem­ber

Non-per­form­ing loans (NPLs) at Cypriot banks de­creased in Septem­ber, Cen­tral Bank fig­ures showed on Mon­day.

The Non per­form­ing Ex­po­sures (ac­cord­ing to ECB def­i­ni­tion) de­creased slightly in Septem­ber to EUR 27.329 bln from EUR 27.379 bln in Au­gust, rep­re­sent­ing 47.79% of to­tal loans.

Re­struc­tured loans amounted which EUR 10.40 bln are still con­sid­ered to be NPLs.

Non per­form­ing busi­ness loans reached 57.02% or EUR 13.80 bln in Septem­ber from a to­tal of EUR 24.20 bln.

House­hold NPLs were at 56.08% or EUR 12.76 bln in Septem­ber from a to­tal of EUR 22.75 bln.

The Cen­tral Bank fig­ures showed that the banks have recorded ac­cu­mu­lated im­pair­ment loss amount­ing to EUR 9.02 bln.
