Trade deficit shrinks

The trade deficit shrank last year, ac­cord­ing to pre­lim­i­nary es­ti­mates for For­eign Trade in De­cem­ber 2015, re­leased by the Sta­tis­ti­cal Ser­vice Cy­s­tat.

The trade deficit for the full year of 2015 reached EUR 3,396 mln, com­pared to EUR 3,702 mln in the cor­re­spond­ing pe­riod of 2014. To­tal im­ports and ar­rivals in 2015 reached EUR 5,114 mln, while to­tal ex­ports and dis­patches amounted to EUR 1,718 mln.

In De­cem­ber 2015, to­tal im­ports and ar­rivals were EUR 445.7 mln, of which EUR 336.3 mln were from other EU mem­ber states and EUR 109.4 mln im­ports from third coun­tries. To­tal ex­ports and dis­patches were EUR 126.8 mln of which EUR 60.5 mln were to other EU mem­ber states and EUR 66.3 mln ex­ports to third coun­tries.
