Trade deficit shrinks
The trade deficit shrank last year, according to preliminary estimates for Foreign Trade in December 2015, released by the Statistical Service Cystat.
The trade deficit for the full year of 2015 reached EUR 3,396 mln, compared to EUR 3,702 mln in the corresponding period of 2014. Total imports and arrivals in 2015 reached EUR 5,114 mln, while total exports and dispatches amounted to EUR 1,718 mln.
In December 2015, total imports and arrivals were EUR 445.7 mln, of which EUR 336.3 mln were from other EU member states and EUR 109.4 mln imports from third countries. Total exports and dispatches were EUR 126.8 mln of which EUR 60.5 mln were to other EU member states and EUR 66.3 mln exports to third countries.
