Fish Market opens in Limassol Old Port
With the number of specialty restaurants in the Limassol Marina and the Castle area now reaching their limit, the growing demand has forced operators to spread out and seek nearby locations to satisfy the market.
One such move follows the government’s recent plans to rent out facilities in the refurbished adjacent Old Port where a waterfront steak house has recently opened.
Adding to the selection is the Fish Market, offering a menu conceived by Lefteris Lazarou, celebrity chef of the Michelin-starred Varoulko in Greece. Dishes range from fresh fish to crustaceans, all presented in a modern way and at affordable prices, according to the operators, part of the PHC Group.
The Greek chef’s famous fishballs and minced octopus balls, as well as the Lazarou Specials, will feature prominently and are expected to be a great hit.
The proximity to the Limassol Marina, which already has the Pyxida fish restaurant, will also test the features of the Hobo Mediterraneo, operated once again by PHC, where the menu was conceived by Lazarou’s friend and “TV-rival” Demetris Skarmoutsos, both of whom have been featuring in the Lidl campaigns in the past year, as part of the budget supermarket’s efforts to upscale their image.
