New CEO at Her­mes Air­ports

The Her­mes Air­ports board has ap­pointed Eleni Kalo­girou as its new CEO, re­plac­ing Wes Porter who re­signed to take a se­nior ex­ec­u­tive po­si­tion at an air­port in North Amer­ica. He had served as Her­mes’ Chief Ex­ec­u­tive Of­fi­cer since July 2013. Eleni Kaloyirou joined Her­mes Air­ports in Novem­ber 2014 as the Ex­ec­u­tive Man­ager Busi­ness Con­trol. As of 1 Jan­uary 2016, she as­sumed the po­si­tion of CFO.

Eleni has 30 years of work ex­pe­ri­ence mainly in the air­line in­dus­try, in the po­si­tion of CFO and then deputy CEO at Cyprus Air­ways. She also has ex­pe­ri­ence in the prop­erty de­vel­op­ment busi­ness and the ac­count­ing pro­fes­sion hav­ing worked for KPMG in Cyprus and Lon­don. She was a board mem­ber of the As­so­ci­a­tion of Public Com­pa­nies of Cyprus be­tween 1991 and 2011.

Eleni is a Fel­low of the In­sti­tute of Char­tered Ac­coun­tants in Eng­land and Wales (ICAEW) and a mem­ber of the In­sti­tute of Cer­ti­fied Public Ac­coun­tants of Cyprus. She holds a de­gree in Eco­nom­ics from Cam­bridge Univer­sity.
