CSC Vice Pres­i­dent re-elected to ICS board

Cyprus Ship­ping Coun­cil Vice Pres­i­dent Philip­pos Philis has been re­elected to the In­ter­na­tional Cham­ber of Ship­ping (ICS) Board of Di­rec­tors, as the rep­re­sen­ta­tive of the Cyprus ship­ping in­dus­try. ICS held its an­nual gen­eral meet­ing in Tokyo on June 2-3 at­tract­ing a large num­ber of shipown­ers and ship­man­agers’ as­so­ci­a­tions from all over the world. Philis and CSC Di­rec­tor Gen­eral Thomas Kaza­kos at­tended the meet­ing where Philis was re-elected, “thus show­ing the high recog­ni­tion the Cyprus Ship­ping Cham­ber is en­joy­ing among the in­ter­na­tional ship­ping com­mu­nity,” a press re­lease is­sued by CSC said. The main topics of dis­cus­sion at the ICS AGM in­cluded mea­sures to be taken by the in­ter­na­tional ship­ping in­dus­try to re­duce even fur­ther the amounts of green­house gas emis­sions, bal­last wa­ter man­age­ment and the hu­man­i­tar­ian cri­sis in the Mediter­ranean Sea.
