Cyprus to ben­e­fit from GATT, ProChoice goes on­line

Cyprus will ben­e­fit from the new GATT trade rules, ac­cord­ing to con­clu­sions of a con­fer­ence co-hosted by the Fi­nan­cial Mir­ror, while AL ProChoice bro­kers an­nounced they would be the first to go on­line, ac­cord­ing to the Fi­nan­cial Mir­ror is­sue 146, on July 24, 1996.

Cyprus stands to ben­e­fit tremen­dously from the GATT ac­cord for free trade, with Agri­cul­ture Min­is­ter Costas Petrides say­ing the agree­ment met com­plaints from pres­sure groups, but that the gov­ern­ment was com­mit­ted to go­ing ahead and that ben­e­fits would be felt by the con­sumer, in his ad­dress to a con­fer­ence or­ga­nized by the Fi­nan­cial Mir­ror and the Poly­gon Group.

The bro­ker­age firm AL ProChoice an­nounced it was ex­pand­ing with of­fices in all towns and plans to be the first to go on­line, hosted by the Lo­gosNet/Tel­er­ate plat­form. The firm’s man­ager An­dreas Leonidou said that 2-3 IPOs were al­ready in the pipe­line.
