M&A deals surge, Fed keeps rates at 5.25%

M&A deals have reached a record CYP 382 mln mainly driven by Greek in­vestors snap­ping up Cypriot as­sets, while in the rest of the world, the Fed kept rates steady at 5.25% as the US econ­omy slowed, ac­cord­ing to the is­sue 683, on Au­gust 9, 2006.

M&A deals:

Greek in­vestors, hun­gry for takeover op­por­tu­ni­ties, have been snap­ping up Cypriot as­sets, with the value of deals so far reach­ing CYP 382 mln, on tar­get for 2006 to be­come the best M&A year ever.
