BMW Egypt Reaffirm their Commitment to Egypt’s Amateur Golfing Community
in its 19th edition and held in Katameya Dunes
Reaffirming its commitment to the amateur golfing community in Egypt, on December 5th, 2015, BMW Egypt organized the 19th BMW Golf cup Tournament. Hosted at Katameya Dunes in the 5th District of New Cairo, the tournament brought together 93 amateurs who battled in out for the BMW Golf Cup. The annual BMW Golf Tournament which is part of the larger BMW International Golf Cup and first started in 1987, has become a popular sporting event amongst both golf fans and BMW clients, with winners going on to compete in the globes largest amateur competition. Each tournament constitutes a round of the BMW International Golf Cup and is organized by BMW dealers all over the world.
The tournament which was broadcast live through screens placed at various different locations across Katamya Dunes was sponsored by several trend setting brands including Omega watches, Nespresso coffee, Samsung and Emirates NBD Bank who offered exclusive product discounts to the sport’s fans. Omega also supported the HoleIn-one award, presenting one of their iconic watches to the winner. Decorating the golf greens, BMW also gave golfing fans a chance to experience their latest automotive innovations; showcasing the All-New 7 Series in addition to several other new BMW Series such as X3, 320i, 520i, 318i and 2 Series Active Tourer218i, which were available for text drive.
After an exciting tournament that was concluded with an elegant ceremony and a sensational musical performance by Noha Fekry; an up and coming Egyptian Jazz Singer and Writer, Yahia Abdul Kodouss, GM of Marketing & PR of Bavarian Auto Group, (the solo assembler, and Importer of BMW in Egypt) distributed the prizes to the winners.
Winners who are qualified for the final tournaments included Taymour Abou El-Kheir in Division A Men, Ahmed Ismail in Division B Men and Shahira Abd El Haleem in Division C Ladies. The final tournaments will be hosted in South Africa from the 7th to 12th March 2016.
