Race2Re­cov­ery makes his­tory

The Land Rover-spon­sored Race2Re­cov­ery team be­came the first dis­abil­ity team to com­plete the world’s tough­est race, the 2013 Dakar Rally. The team of in­jured soldiers over­came 8 570 km of rac­ing through gi­ant dunes and rough ter­rain in sear­ing heat. The team’s Land Rover Defender-based Wild­cat race ve­hi­cle with driver Ma­jor Matt O’Hare and co-driver Cor­po­ral Phillip Gille­spie crossed the fin­ish line in San­ti­ago, Chile on 21 Jan­uary 2013 sig­nalling the end of an ex­tra­or­di­nary two weeks of rac­ing.
