Bass boat

Drop the bass

A bass boat can cost anything from what a misguided evening at the Black Jack table will set you back to the price of a luxury SUV motor vehicle. These boats are of the smaller kind, partly to cruise the parts of a river where bass lurk in the muddy shallows. Honda Marine sells the Linder 445 Catch, a 4.5-metre aluminium boat produced in Sweden. The vessel is lightweight and can thus be powered by a tiny 30-horsepower outboard motor and won’t create much drag behind your vehicle when towing it on the trailer, which is also included in the price. Paul Vermeulen from Honda Marine says the aluminium boat is far lighter than a GRP boat and can perform with a far smaller engine which in turn benefits your pocket and the environment. “The smaller engines are also cheaper to insure and license with local authorities who govern bodies of water and the usage thereof,” he says. “Another massive advantage of these boats is that they require very little maintenance or cleaning. No detergents are needed to clean the boat after use; just a rinse with fresh water. Once again, better for the environment.”
