Dealer of the centur(ion)

Land Rover AFRICA Magazine - - TECHNICAL -

We arrived at 400 West Avenue in Centurion to the sight of a modern glass building perched high on the hills between Pretoria and Midrand. Overlooking the N1 highway and surrounding areas, this impressive building puts you in mind of a futuristic spaceship and carries a certain status as the ‘mothership’ of South Africa’s Land Rover dealerships. Centurion is owned by the Lazarus Motor Company, and we even had the privilege of

meeting owner, Colin Lazarus. Reaping the awards Land Rover Centurion was recently recognised by Jaguar Land Rover SA as the 2014 ‘Embracer of the Brand’ at the 2014 annual Dealer of the Year Achievement. Awarded based on feedback from employees at rival dealerships, this really is a coveted award. They also received the award for ‘Financial Services Dealer of the Year’. Unique partnership Nikon South Africa and Land Rover Centurion have joined forces to create an exciting initiative called ‘I Am Adventure’. The initiative takes two brands, both of which epitomises adventure, and sees them create exciting photographic excursions for all levels of photography. Land Rover Centurion has invested three new Discovery 4s and, together with Nikon trainers and equipment, the vehicles are the perfect tools to set out on photographic adventures. Defender trophy The Land Rover Centurion Defender Trophy 2013 was a memorable one for the Land Rover community. What started out as a fun weekend out in the bush, navigating tricky terrain has now become all that and more. Passion, camaraderie, teamwork and Land Rover Defenders are the cornerstones of the Land Rover Centurion Defender Trophy, pitting man versus machine. QUICK CUPPA WITH THE BOSS(ES) Dealer principal, Craig ‘Runs-a-tight-ship’ Rohland and Owner, Colin Lazarus. What makes your dealership so special? CR: I think it has to do with the right combination of staff and clients. Come visit our premises, and you’ll see that we are constantly innovating ourselves and the Land Rover brand. We are highly focused on customer relations and using in-house resources to make their experiences the best. What do you attribute your success to? CL: From humble beginnings back in 1957, the company has grown in leaps and bounds, but I still consider Land Rover Centurion as one of the company’s most profitable businesses. The passion and determination of the staff and that ability to go ‘above and beyond’ for clients, really puts us above the rest. What the customers say “We’re all friends at Land Rover Centurion. They make you feel like family. The service is just excellent.” – Jan van Zyl. “The first time I walked into LR Centurion, Tjaart (Moolman, marketing manager) handed me the keys to his car and said, take it for a spin this weekend and let me know what you think. It was the first time we met. I don’t think you get a better ‘personal touch’ than at LR Centurion.” – Louis La Grange. “I buy ALL my vehicles here. These are the guys who really go the extra mile to look after my needs as a vehicle owner.” – Bobby Lotter.
