Com­mu­ni­ca­tions Min­is­ter uses GI­TEX 2017 to show­case in­vest­ment op­por­tu­ni­ties in Egyp­tian mar­ket

The Min­istry of Com­mu­ni­ca­tions and In­for­ma­tion Tech­nol­ogy takes part in the 37th ses­sion of the GI­TEX 2017 ex­hi­bi­tion, which launches dur­ing the pe­riod from 8 to 12 Oc­to­ber in the World Trade Cen­tre in Dubai. A num­ber of ex­perts and rep­re­sen­ta­tives of gov­ern­ment agen­cies, as well as com­pa­nies work­ing in the field of com­mu­ni­ca­tions and in­for­ma­tion tech­nol­ogy, are tak­ing part in the ex­hi­bi­tion.

On the side­lines of the ex­hi­bi­tion, Min­is­ter of Com­mu­ni­ca­tions and In­for­ma­tion Tech­nol­ogy Yasser El Kady is hold­ing a num­ber of bi­lat­eral meet­ings with gov­ern­ment of­fi­cials and ma­jor lead­ers of global com­mu­ni­ca­tions and in­for­ma­tion tech­nol­ogy com­pa­nies in or­der to show­case the in­vest­ment op­por­tu­ni­ties avail­able in the field and to look into co­op­er­a­tion in the fields of re­search, de­vel­op­ment, soft­ware, elec­tron­ics, and tech­no­log­i­cal zones.

Through­out the week, the GI­TEX Dubai ex­hi­bi­tion will show­case the lat­est trends, prod­ucts, and in­no­va­tions across the world. It also brings to­gether emerg­ing com­pa­nies in the field of tech­nol­ogy, al­low­ing them to show­case their in­no­va­tions and am­bi­tions to in­ter­na­tional in­vestors.

The Min­istry of Com­mu­ni­ca­tions and In­for­ma­tion Tech­nol­ogy takes part in the ex­hi­bi­tion through the In­for­ma­tion Tech­nol­ogy In­dus­try De­vel­op­ment Agency (ITIDA) with the spon­sor­ship and sup­port of 26 Egyp­tian com­pa­nies in two pav­il­ions in the ex­hi­bi­tions, where one of them is named El Sheikh Saeed and in­cludes 20 gov­ern­ment com­pa­nies, while the other in­cludes six emerg­ing com­pa­nies.

It is worth men­tion­ing that GI­TEX was launched in 1981.It is con­sid­ered the trade gate­way for com­mu­ni­ca­tions and in­for­ma­tion tech­nol­ogy in the Mid­dle East and North Africa (MENA) re­gion, as well as South Asia. It con­tin­u­ously iden­ti­fies the most im­por­tant in­ter­na­tional trends for in­for­ma­tion tech­nol­ogy.

These trends are hosted ei­ther as new seg­ments or pro­grammes in the ex­hi­bi­tion. It is the most prom­i­nent ex­hi­bi­tion in the Mid­dle East, and this year it is at­tract­ing over 147,000 spe­cial­ists in com­mu­ni­ca­tions and in­for­ma­tion tech­nol­ogy from more than 97 coun­tries on an area of 92,903 sqm, bring­ing to­gether 4,473 ex­hibitors in Dubai’s World Trade Cen­tre.

GI­TEX is con­sid­ered one of the three most im­por­tant ex­hi­bi­tions in the world in the field of com­mu­ni­ca­tions and in­for­ma­tion tech­nol­ogy.
