Nasr takes part in WYF peace marathon, and meets with Fin­nish for­eign min­is­ter

Fin­land is keen to in­crease co­op­er­a­tion with Egypt, in­vest­ing in re­new­able en­ergy field, said Soini

Min­is­ter of In­vest­ment and In­ter­na­tional Co­op­er­a­tion Sa­har Nasr par­tic­i­pated in the peace marathon that took place on Wed­nes­day in the World Youth Fo­rum (WYF) held un­der the aus­pices of Pres­i­dent Ab­del Fat­tah Al-Sisi in Sharm El-Sheikh.

There­after, Nasr held a meet­ing with Fin­land’s For­eign Min­is­ter Timo Soini in the pres­ence of Fin­nish Am­bas­sador to Egypt Laura Kan­sikas, where they dis­cussed in­creas­ing the eco­nomic and in­vest­ment co­op­er­a­tion be­tween the two coun­tries.

Fur­ther­more, Soini stressed his coun­try’s keen­ness on in­creas­ing co­op­er­a­tion with Egypt in both the eco­nomic and in­vest­ment fields and in­ject­ing new in­vest­ments in Egypt, es­pe­cially in the field of re­new­able en­ergy, such as the man­u­fac­ture of elec­tri­cal tasks (wind power and so­lar wa­ter heaters) us­ing ad­vanced Fin­nish tech­nolo­gies.

On Tues­day, Nasr took part in the sign­ing of a con­tract with in­vestors to de­velop the north­ern and south­ern re­gions of the Suez Canal Eco­nomic Zone (SCZone) be­tween Egyp­tian and for­eign de­vel­op­ers.

Ac­cord­ing to Mo­hab Mamish, chair­man of the Suez Canal Au­thor­ity (SCA), ac­tual con­tracts be­tween the eco­nomic zone and the ma­jor in­ter­na­tional and lo­cal com­pa­nies and in­vestors, which are signed, are of a to­tal in­vest­ment value of $40bn.
