Nasr takes part in WYF peace marathon, and meets with Finnish foreign minister
Finland is keen to increase cooperation with Egypt, investing in renewable energy field, said Soini
Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Sahar Nasr participated in the peace marathon that took place on Wednesday in the World Youth Forum (WYF) held under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi in Sharm El-Sheikh.
Thereafter, Nasr held a meeting with Finland’s Foreign Minister Timo Soini in the presence of Finnish Ambassador to Egypt Laura Kansikas, where they discussed increasing the economic and investment cooperation between the two countries.
Furthermore, Soini stressed his country’s keenness on increasing cooperation with Egypt in both the economic and investment fields and injecting new investments in Egypt, especially in the field of renewable energy, such as the manufacture of electrical tasks (wind power and solar water heaters) using advanced Finnish technologies.
On Tuesday, Nasr took part in the signing of a contract with investors to develop the northern and southern regions of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) between Egyptian and foreign developers.
According to Mohab Mamish, chairman of the Suez Canal Authority (SCA), actual contracts between the economic zone and the major international and local companies and investors, which are signed, are of a total investment value of $40bn.
